On Tuesday, October 25th, in partnership with the BET Vote 2016 campaign, the Changing the Climate Tour will stop at Cleveland State University for a panel discussion on issues that matter to African American millennials, including environmental equity and climate change. The event is part of a 10-city initiative to engage black millennials on the impact of their voice and vote in the community and on the need for action and activism.
The discussion will take place in the Main Classroom Building, room 136, at Cleveland State (1899 East 22nd Street). Panelists at Tuesday’s forum include Cleveland native and tour organizer, Stefanie Brown James, CEO of the Vestige Strategies; Quentin James, tour organizer and COO of Vestige Strategies; Julian A. Rogers, Director of Community Partnerships at Cleveland State University; Kwame Jackson, MSNBC contributor and former contestant on NBC’s The Apprentice; Tameka Mallory, CEO at Mallory Consulting, Co-Founder of the Justice League NY and former Executive Director of National Action Network; Adrienne Cooper, Deputy Director of Defend Our Future; and Telley Madina, CEO of The Madina Group.
Launched in October of 2016, the Changing the Climate Tour is working to elevate issues of importance to the African American community through lively discussions led by nationally known advocates, entertainers, politicos, students and journalists. The tour has traveled to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Tuskegee University, Florida A&M University, Harvard University and Howard University. Future stops before Election Day will include Wilberforce University (10/26), North Carolina A&T University (11/1), and North Carolina Central University (11/2).
